Petra and i would like to thank everyone who's supported, written, played and shared the first year of Massimo's life. We simply couldnt of done it without you all.

Excuses Excuses

Well i know its been quite a while. Ive been so busy the last few months! My grandmother came over from the Czech Republic for a whole 6 weeks and we went everywhere! Blue Mountains, the south coast and from one end of Tasmania to the other...very exciting. I had a quiet christmas and have generally been growing and becoming cute and cheeky!

Hospital Day 2

Hi! My name is Massimo Vittorio Montebello.

L'histoire

Ok. Quick version.

I was born with profound Congenital Hydrocephalus.

My head diameter at birth was 48.5cm and they all agreed there was a good chance i wouldnt be born alive or wouldnt make it much past birth. I was flown to ICU at The Childrens Hospital at Westmead where i had my first shunt inserted 5 days after birth.

Truth be known i had some big problems with it the first few months.

I had my shunt revised from the back of my head to the front and endured a cracking 3 month migraine until my head re-adjusted to the changing pressure and head reshaping , but since then i have been generally ok and my head diameter hasn't increased. Touch wood!

My mum is from the Czech Republic and she was born in a small town 30 minutes from PRAGUE called Beroun.

My dad hails from the United Kingdom and was conceived and born in a small town called Ramsgate. Currently we have a similar amount of hair on our heads which can add confusion to who the baby really is!

We all live in sunny, "Where the bloody hell are you?" Australia, in the capital Canberra.

Last but not least im very bloody cute and all the chicks dig me!
Especially my great grandma and her Lawn Bowling mates.
